Robert Burns
How he is celebrated
Robert Burns is celebrated at Burns Suppers. These are held on Burns night, the 25th of January. They are held not only in Scotland but all over the world! They are traditionally a Scottish meal with soup, haggis neeps and tatties. There may be other courses including a cheese course, fish course, coffee, dessert etc. There is also the reading of Address To A Haggis before the haggis is cut. Once the meal is finished, there is usually recitals of some of his works including Tam o' Shanter and To A Mouse. For more information on his works, see Works. There is also traditional Scottish music such as bagpipes and at larger occasions, a pipe band.
